Sittin Idol--Sittin
Idol, Independent Release , 2001
Imagine James Hetfield
fronting a stoner band and you start getting at the heart of this eight-track
disc. This is the kind of thing that’s hard to imagine without
a massive stage show, plenty of lights and big screens or, in short,
outside of the live setting. Believe me, that’s all a good thing:
there’s an undeniable power here, an undeniable energy that makes
you feel like raising your hands, giving a good shout, then pushing
your way down front for a little mosh action. Strongly recommended are
“Mission,” “Redline,” and “Idolatry,”
along with the massive “Superhost” and “Amends.”
Plenty of groove, plenty of aggression. Ones to watch.
