A band from Calgary, has something very special, as my fiancée
comes from Calgary (ok, originally from Québec, but you get the
point). Also an interesting cover, so what does the CD itself bring
us?
After the oriental intro-instrumental "Idolatry" a few names
come to my mind while listening to the CD, like CORROSION OF CONFORMITY
(or C.O.C., depending on where you know them from), TROUBLE, SOUNDGARDEN
and vocally also a few newer METALLICA, even though you cannot pick
one certain song to say that it sounds like this or that band.
SITTIN' IDOL are grooving through the tracks, here a little heavier,
there doomy and viscous, but always with good structures and when you
got used to the vocals of Scott Lennox, then it also fits it very well.
Not completely my cup of tea, but really well made, SITTIN' IDOL are
a band that you surely should keep an eye on! (Online July 16, 2002)
